2021 Virtual Mini-Summits

Amid an ongoing global pandemic, an uncertain economic future, and our nation’s most heightened racial awareness since the civil rights movement, young womxn are refusing to stay silent. From planning peaceful protests to organizing community food drives to taking on additional burdens to support their families, they continue to push the status quo. And the world needs to start listening.

City Clerk Anna Valencia and Felicia Davis, Chicago Foundation for Women President and CEO, and the Status of Women and Girls Working Group hosted a series of mini summits focused on topics important to young people in March 2021.

These free virtual mini-summits brought together young women, girls, trans, and gender nonbinary individuals ages 13-24 from across Chicago to discuss the issues most important to them.
